The analysts and candidates
of the C. G. Jung Institute
of San Francisco have
overwhelmingly judged
Proposition 8 as prejudicial
and unfairly discriminating
against a minority in our
society and in our
institute. What we recommend
is not that analysands and
others think as we think,
but that all consider this
matter and other social
ethical matters as deeply
and thoroughly as in our
community we have tried to
do and that they be guided
by the consequences of their
searching. We believe that
earnest searching is a sine
qua non of an ethical sense,
without which belief may be
only traditional,
gratuitous, or too lightly
held.
