THE INFANT, CHILD AND ADOLESCENT TRAINING PROGRAM (ICAT)

iCAT is a comprehensive two-year program designed to prepare analysts for specialization in analytic work with children and adolescents. Our academic year runs from September to June. Trainees will receive continuing education credit for their participation in monthly seminars. At the completion of the program, trainees will also receive a certification in Jungian Child Analysis from the C. G. Jung Institute of San Francisco.

Applying to iCAT We welcome applicants who have graduated from analytic and psychoanalytic institutes all over the world. You can request more information or an iCAT application by contacting Helene Dorian at hdorian@sfjung.org or by calling 415-771-8055 ext *210. Applications are reviewed annually in the spring. Grandfathering as iCat Analysts – AVAILABLE TO CURRENT ANALYST MEMBERS OF THE C.G. JUNG INSTITUTE ONLY:  A second round of grandfathering is being offered to adult analysts who meet the criteria outlined in the application to the iCAT program. Those adult analysts who request to be grandfathered will need to demonstrate equivalent training to that described in the application to the iCAT training and will need to present one child and one adolescent case to a child certification committee made up of two members of our current iCAT committee along with one certified child and adolescent analyst from outside of our C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco.

All certified adult analysts who have child and adolescent clinical training equivalent to that described in the application are eligible to apply for grandfathering. Applications for this iCAT grandfathering may be obtained from Helene Dorian – hdorian@sfjung.org. The deadline for applications to be returned to Helene for this round of grandfathering is January 1, 2016. Applications will be reviewed by members of our iCAT committee, and if qualifications are met, a certification meeting will be set for some time in early 2016 when cases will be presented. If you have questions about this grandfathering opportunity please contact Virginia Humphrey.
